★ 四座葛莱美奖、六座全英音乐奖、全球1700万张专辑销量从Coldplay的歌曲中经常能体会出一种忧郁的感觉，这是因为主唱注入了无限伤感情绪的原因，动人的嗓音唱着温柔的旋律。Coldplay由四个二十岁出头的年轻小伙子组成，1996年时在UCL（University College London）四人相遇，两年后决定合组此乐团。1998年4月在Chris同窗Phil（日后成为Coldplay的经纪人）的帮助下发行了仅500张的“Safty”限量EP。之后他们就开始了漂泊的音乐生命。同时他们也参加了业余乐团比赛，更由于这些公开表演的机会，使他们得以受到英国知名独立摇滚厂牌Fierce Panda的Simon Williams的高度赞誉，并进一步在Fierce Panda发表了单曲“Brothers & Sisters”。不久Coldplay便被Parlophone相中签约旗下，于1999年10月推出EP“The Blue Room”。2000年在英国推出了他们的首张大牒《Parachutes 》，并且在推出之后成功登上了英国排行榜的榜首，凭借这张大牒，他们获得了3项Brit Award（相当于英国的格林美颁奖典礼）的提名。Coldplay所获得的提名包括Best British Group, Best British Album和Best British Newcomer…..

Coldplay 真的是近几年来最善于生产优美旋律的乐团。主唱 Chris Martin 的假音运用一直让我有走在钢索上的提心吊胆危机感，但却又因此而使自己的耳朵乃至心情整个被 Chris 的歌声所牵引着。

不得不说，这个乐团谱写情歌旋律的功力实在太强了，到了也确实没有必要用多花俏的乐团编曲来补强什麽地方的地步。太多馀的画蛇添足，搞不好反而喧宾夺主，掩盖掉了美好旋律的风采。多听了几回专辑，这才更加深深地被 Coldplay 所吸引，并折服于灵魂人物 Chris Martin 的神秘深邃忧鬱文艺气质，短短的头髮留点鬍渣的造型也愈看愈帅。OMG, i love Coldplay!!!!

《Yellow》的音乐录影带是少见的一镜到底拍摄完成，其实整个很省工，製作成本相当低廉。乐团四位成员只需要主唱一人来演出，拍摄也只靠一架手提摄影机倒退着拍着 Chris Martin 一人穿着灰色帽Ｔ在凌晨的海边独唱，一边走着走着，背景就在短短三四分钟内渐渐由暗转亮，捕捉到了日出东方刹那间的万丈光芒，当太阳已经整个爬上了海平面，Chris 把盖住头的帽子向后撩拨开来，让人有了是否终于鼓起勇气向心仪对象告白成功的豁然开朗之感，虽然编曲、MV 的创意概念都走极简路线，却又展现出了 Coldplay 日后终将成为全球知名畅销热卖泱泱大团的架势与格局。而且其实从黑漆嘛乌到日出破海的实际时间，其实前后可能根本不到两分钟，只够 Chris 把主歌副歌唱一遍就完了，那怎麽办咧？导演得预先准备加快版的背景音乐，在现场快速播放让 Chris 跟着对嘴完整把歌唱过一遍，回到剪接室内再将影片配合音乐转回正常速度，于是画面中我们看到的是慢动作长镜头，歌词却还是可以对得一字不差。如果真的 Chris 对嘴中发生了严重的错误，没办法，太阳是不等人的，NG 一次就得等明天半夜同一时间再来重拍了。这种慢动作快对嘴的拍摄手法后来很普及地被大量运用，难怪擅长拍出自成一格招牌暴力美学的香港动作片大导演吴宇森、电影《The Matrix（骇客任务）》等都爱用高速摄影机大量胶卷搞这套，彷彿将时间凝结的慢动作可以放大某种细微的视觉意象，真的是有比较酷啊。
