科幻片《守望者》中的Halleujah可谓家喻户晓。片中采用了原唱Leonard Cohen的版本，低沉怀旧的感觉为故事情节带来了一丝温情的浪漫。
Hallelujah。其语应来自希伯莱语，读作 Hal-le-lu-jah。意思是“赞美你，主(哈里路的意思是赞美，亚是耶和华简称)”，英语译作“Praise the Lord”。
这首歌是民谣诗人Leonard Cohen1984年写的，被认为是流行音乐最美的旋律之一。多义的歌词，既有宗教的隐喻，又渗透着有关性的想象。情感低沉忧郁，缓慢的调子似无望的人在向上帝祈求。被公认最佳最震撼的翻唱是Jeff Buckley，收录在他1994年的处女专辑Grace中。Rufus Wainwright在2001年Shrek里的翻唱了Jeff的版本。他模仿了Jeff的风格，不同的是Jeff的配乐只有一把低回如泣的吉他，而后者则配以钢琴，更为流行一些。但从歌曲的情绪感染力角度来说，无疑，Jeff的版本更凄婉动人。

英国著名选秀节目《The X Factor》2008年度的总冠军——Alexandra Burke在赛后于12月15日特别发行的一首圣诞单曲《Hallelujah》创造了欧洲单日销量的最高纪录。据悉，在单曲发行后的一天之内，这首《Hallelujah》便售出105,000张，这个数字打破了同样是从《The X Factor》走出的2006年冠军Leona Lewis《A Moment Like This》所保持的82,000张纪录。
